Christma in Cali

We are off to California bright and early in the morning, 4 hours to be exact. Our goal was to leave yesterday at 6pm but with the high winds we didn't think it would be a good idea to drive through the desert in the dark. I am SO excited to see all of my family. Many I haven't seen in over a year since my wedding. Hopefully the winds will push us all the way there and shorten our trip!
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!

Elf

One of my favorite Christmas movies has to be Elf. I found this clip on You Tube that pretty much sums it up.

Funny Christmas Quotes

Here are some amusing Christmas quotes I came across:

1.The Supreme Court has ruled that they cannot have a nativity scene in Washington, D.C. This wasn't for any religious reasons. They couldn't find three wise men and a virgin. - Jay Leno

2.Christmas is a race to see which gives out first - your money or your feet.

3.I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph. - Shirley Temple

4.Mail your packages early so the post office can lose them in time for Christmas. -Johnny Carson

5.The one thing women don't want to find in their stockings on Christmas morning is their husband. -Joan Rivers

6.Why is Christmas just like a day at the office? You do all the work and the fat guy with the suit gets all the credit.

7. Anyone who believes that men are the equal of women has never seen a man trying to wrap a Christmas present.

8.Roses are reddish, Violets are bluish,If it weren't for Christmas,We'd all be Jewish. -Benny Hill

9.Santa Claus has the right idea. Visit people once a year.

10.I once bought my kids a set of batteries for Christmas with a note on it saying, toys not included.-Bernard Manning

Sweet Tooth

If someone could tell me something better then Holiday Baking, I would give them a hug! There are so many recipes and dishes you can create throughout the holiday season. I remember as a little girl my Nana Taormina had ENDLESS recipes! It seemed like she was pulling out cookies, cakes, and pastries from every crevice of her house! There was one in particular that was always the best in my opinion...her Rocky Road! It was like heaven on a plate! I found the recipe for it(Not my Nana's) and I am thinking of attempting this delicious concoction. Wish me Luck!

1 (12 ounce) package Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
1 (14 ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups miniature marshmallows
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts

Directions
1.LINE 13 x 9-inch baking pan with foil; grease lightly.
2.MICROWAVE morsels and sweetened condensed milk in large, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100 percent) power for 1 minute; stir. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract. Fold in marshmallows and nuts.
3.PRESS mixture into prepared baking pan. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Lift from pan; remove foil. Cut into pieces.

You, Me, and the Tree

Last night we grabbed our winter coats, gloves, and scarves, and went to M Resort to see the Nation's Largest Christmas Tree lighting. The tree came from Oregon and was 109 feet tall and 22,000 lbs. The hotel was beautiful and the event was held outside by their pool. Several performers took the stage and my favorite was a group called Phat Stad who consisted of three violinist and a Cellist. They did a beautiful version of The Beatles song Eleanor Rigby and a Cold Play song. It was fun seeing everyone bundled up drinking hot chocolate and eating gingerbread cookies. Not your typical Las Vegas scene, which is why I enjoyed it so much!

We decided it was checkered hat night!

There was over 30 Gingerbread Houses...these were my fave.

Baby Fever

I will admit I have come down with a case of baby fever! Me and Missy were at dinner the other night and we saw this tiny little girl celebrating her first birthday. It was the cutest thing we had seen and we couldn't stop staring at how precious the whole scene was. In no way am I ready for a baby....YET. We plan on waiting one more year for that commitment. In the mean time I am surrounded by my friends gorgeous kids to help me through my fever's!

With This Ring I Thee Wed

Me and Antwone celebrated our One Year Wedding Anniversary on November 29th, 2009. It was shocking to me that a year had already passed us. I guess that is a good thing being that they say the first year of marriage is always the hardest. I have to disagree! Our first year of marriage was filled with laughter, fun memories, and loving every minute of being together. We learned to work as a team when things got a little stressful and never once did we let a argument get the best of us.

We celebrated by going out to a yummy restaurant in Town Square called Texas De Brazil and then going to see The Beatles Love show which I have been DYING to see! I am a huge Beatles fan and have heard so many good reviews on the show. Our seats were amazing and the music gave me chills! As soon as the show was over I wanted to see it again....which I do plan on doing.

After the show we went home and decided to follow the tradition of eating the top tier of our wedding cake. I was a bit nervous to eat it since I figured anything that sits in the freezer for a year can not be tasty. I had asked my friend Dane about it who owns his own cake shop and he gave me the great advice to take the cake out 4 days prior to our anniversary and let it defrost in the fridge. It actually tasted pretty darn good! We were too busy to eat our cake the day of the wedding so we made sure to make time a year later!

I asked Antwone if he is still going to love me when my boobs and butt start to sag and his response was "Hell Yes I will still love you....I will just help you pick them up off the floor!" That is true love!

There is no more lovely, friendly and charming relationship, communion or company than a good marriage.

Turkey with the Taorminas

Yes I am a little bit behind on blogging due to Thanksgiving weekend being so busy and a big wedding I just did. We had such a good Thanksgiving! Vince was home and healthy and my Aunt Paulette and couzin Sebastian came into town. My mom and Aunt Paulette joined forces to cook an AMAZING dinner. We ate too much and laughed too hard. It times like these you realize what is important in life. We have spent many Thanksgivings in the hospital so to have one at home was extra special. The day after Thanksgiving we ate at Antwone's restaurant Planet Hollywood and then played at FAO Schwartz. I AM BLESSED.

Mom and Daughter Date

I am lucky enough to say that my mom is one of my best friends. She is the strongest Woman I know and she some how manages to do it all. We went to the Woman's Expo that came to town and I had free tickets so I figured why not make a day out of it. We went to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe (my new found favorite breakfast place) and then off to the JW Marriott for the Expo. We laughed the whole time going from booth to booth and registering for every possible contest to win. Well we did win! My mom won a free year gym membership and a air purifier and I won a $50 dollar gift card to Eleven Spa. They had free martinis' thanks to Blue Martini and Ricardo's Mexican restaurant was hosting the food. My mom got to experience seeing her first fashion show live and we got to see a few dances from the men of Sapphire! All in all it was a great mother/daughter date. Our next one will hopefully be to see New Moon. I am scared to admit that I still have not seen it. What kind of fan am I?

A cute business inspired bride! Perfect for a Court House wedding!

Mom was looking forward to using her collagen mask that makes you look younger!
